Next image: While out in Death Valley to watch the Comet 💫 it was a dark clear night and the Milky Way was I’m full view!! I was over 100F when this was taken and a hot wind was coming right at us. I love how the lights on the horizon make me think of a hot oven blasting heat my way. I think I’ll name this image “Summer Heat”! It’s also amazing to see the mud cracks change over time. It’s been 6 months since I was last there and I’m not confident they’ve had rain since. So the cracks are definitely worn on the edges from the dry desert air. 📷: @canonusa 5DMarkIV @sigmaphoto 20mm f/1.4 @reallyrightstuff tripod and ballhead Image details: f/2 at 20 seconds and iso 10000 17 exposures taken and stacked in starry landscape stacker for noise reduction. 2 foreground images taken at f/2.2 at 3 min and 4 min at iso 800 and focused on the cracks and merged into with PS
Previous image: Let’s keep the Iceland travel log going at least for today. We got to Skogafoss late and found a place to park our van and went to sleep for a few hours. It had been really overcast the day before so I was not hopeful about sunrise. But I woke up and poked my head out the Window and saw clouds. I jumped up and threw on my pants, jacket, ski cap and boots, grabbed my camera bag and raced the rising sun. I was all alone to watch the show. Sometimes you get lucky. I tried to rouse my buddies that were still asleep. But not much I could do. The sun will rise again. But I got some memories of this one. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
