Next image: As winter nears I was reminiscing about a winter trip to Abraham Lake and went to the archives and found this image from an afternoon in Preachers Point. Preachers Point is where the river empties into the lake. Therefore it’s quite shallow in many areas. Like shallow enough to see the lake/River bottom and also shallow in some areas where the water is still moving that you can find moving water and have to be careful to not step on thin ice. The ice here was over 5’ thick and the bubbles and cracks intense. If you look closely you’ll see a few locals out for an afternoon stroll with their dog to check out the bubbles.
