Next image: Thinking of dark skies led me to think about heading to Death Valley in July to catch the Comet! I had a few ideas of locations that I was going to goto. We decided to go check out the mud cracks first. And the hike across the desert at 8:15pm and the air temps at 114F with a hot 20mph wind! It was like a blast furnace. So other plans for other locations were aborted. Since it’s a good 30-40min hike that looks like a 10 min hike. And you can never have enough water. It’s called Death Valley for a reason. !! I will say it was really cool time watching the comet race to the horizon and definitely worth the effort!! We got back to our car to head home at midnight. It was still 103F!!!
Previous image: Still dreaming of cooler spots. This time the famous Kirkjufell the mountain and Kirkjufellfoss the falls. I was supposed to be preparing for a late summer trip to Iceland in a few weeks, but Covid cancelled the trip. So I’m stuck enjoying images from past trips!
